Novel non-linear control for synchronization and power sharing in islanded and grid-connected mesh microgrids

In this paper, a novel distributed nonlinear control strategy of mesh microgrids’ generators (DGs) based on droop approaches is proposed. It ensures secure synchronization DGs and their accurate active reactive power sharing in both islanded grid-connected operating modes microgrids. This method allows also seamless transition from to without affecting the DGs’ during as well controlling independently exchanged powers with main grid. The efficiency proposed strategies verified first by Simulink/Simscape simulation results then validated experimentations using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) real time simulator opal-rt dSPACE platforms. robustness investigated respect load variation, microgrid topology modification communication delays. © 2017 Elsevier Inc.
